Why I'm building this
Hi, I'm the person behind Outpost. I usually go by a_green_cat online.
I'm creating this platform because I'm tired of AI taking over art spaces. As an artist myself, I've wanted to love platforms like RedBubble, but the undisclosed AI "art" that they're flooded with makes my blood boil. The item selection also wasn't the most inspiring. I believe that we can do better.
Outpost is built for real people. I have a background in computer science which I will use to curate rigorously (no AI), and we will offer items that matter to communities. We make merch accessible for everyone from solo artists to established creators.
If you're a creator with an audience, I want to help you launch official merch. If you're an artist wanting to sell your work, we handle the production. If you want to run fan-art merch events on your terms, we will support that too.
This has to be community-driven. I'm not looking to maximize volume or profit, I want to honor human creativity.
